Who is the Conference for? Anyone who really cares about truth and transparency. (Practitioners and academics in the information, communication, media, computer, and library domains, members of NGOs working on civil society and good governance issues, and all who are interested in ethical, legal and regulatory aspects of information and communication.)

This is a great way to get the word out to massive numbers - and to remind yourself and others that we are not alone. We meet on the Berkeley pedestrian overpass and display banners of peace, truth, justice, and accountability to all the traffic passing underneath. We have a few huge banners ("9/11 Truth for Peace", and "Expose the 9/11 Cover-Up" for example), so all you need to do is come out with your positive attitudes and mingle with fellow activists.

From October 2001 through October 2007 every week, except when it was raining; I set up tables, banners, chairs, food, educational material, and created a space for public dialogue on key issues. In November 2007 (when my weekly radio shows began), I began doing this on a monthly basis, on the 11th of every month, in solidarity with other activists worldwide (See http://www.truthaction.org.)

The “Conscientious Projector Film Series for the 99%” presents: “Hypothesis”, a film by Brett Smith, a movie about Professor Steven Jones and his scientific findings in researching the dust samples left from the disintegration of 3 World Trade Center buildings, one of which was not hit by a plane, Building 7, which housed Mayor Giuliani's "Emergency Command & Control Center" on the 27th floor. Eventually Jones was joined by an international team of scientists to publish their findings in a prestigious scientific peer review journal. Forget about conspiracy theories!

Denny's restaurant, 925 - 3rd Street, is located at the corner of 3rd and "J" Streets. The meeting will be in the Conference Room

There is no charge for the use of Denny's Conference Room. However, it's understandable that Denny's asks that those who use the room purchase something from their menu (and a tip for the food-servers is appreciated).

As the prison at Guantanamo approaches its tenth year, we are faced with a choice. We can wipe our eyes, concede defeat, and walk away from human rights, the rule of law, and the men at Guantanamo and Bagram detained without charge or fair trial. Or we can rise up anew to say no to torture and call for the closure of Guantanamo, accountability for the torturers, and justice for the victims of US abuse.
