This is an archive of past Bay Area 9-11 events, from January 2010 - recent events. The events that I have organized are in my blog/archive, but there is so much happening in the Bay Area- many 9-11 events that I have not organized or even heard about- this just reflects the ones that I have been aware of and have tried to help publicize. The most recent events will be added to the bottom of this list, oldest events are at the top.

        Tri-City Documentary Series begins its fourth year with a free screening of:

        Rethink Afghanistan

        Award-winning filmmaker Robert Greenwald delivers a ground-breaking documentary that shatters all perceived truths behind the war in Afghanistan. President Obama has decided to send more than 30,000 extra troops to Afghanistan, at a cost of more than $100 billion/year. But America cannot afford a war that does not make us safer, and Congress has the power to stop the escalation.

    1,000 Architects & Engineers demand new 9/11 WTC investigation!

        As of January 2010, over 1,000 architects and engineers have signed our petition demanding a real investigation into the destruction of the three World Trade Center skyscrapers on 9/11. This petition, along with AE911Truth literature and DVDs, will also be presented to every Member of Congress.

        To underscore the importance of this milestone achievement, AE911Truth is launching a massive publicity campaign nationwide and holding a Press Conference followed by an exclusive Keynote Luncheon to include David Ray Griffin, Steven Jones and others.

          PROGRAM:

            11:00 am - Press Conference
            Richard Gage, AIA, accompanied by other distinguished speakers and prominent petition signers, will announce this milestone with a brief dynamic presentation of the evidence which has convinced over 1,000 architects and engineers to support the demand for a real investigation. The presentation will be followed by Q&A. Press kits will be distributed.

            12:00 pm - Keynote Luncheon
            Exclusive luncheon in honor of the thousand petition signers, volunteers and supporters who have contributed to the success of AE911Truth. To mark the occasion, distinguished members of the 9/11 Truth movement, including David Ray Griffin, PhD. and Steven Jones, PhD., will make important relevant presentations. We will also present an overview of the major accomplishments achieved in 2009 along with the ambitious goals we have set for 2010.

            This conference will give us the opportunity to strategize with and empower our architect and engineer petition signers. Our goal: to develop more AE911Truth speakers and otherwise actively disseminate our message to fellow A&E professionals. We will focus on several methods of structuring and delivering the message effectively. And hear your ideas about how to make AE911Truth even more impactful.

  • San Francisco March and Rally Against the Wars

      11 a.m. Civic Center Plaza

        In Washington DC, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and other cities there will be rallies and marches against the wars.

        The national actions are initiated by a large number of organizations and prominent individuals. March 20 is the seventh anniversary of the criminal war of aggression launched by Bush and Cheney against Iraq. One million or more Iraqis have died. Tens of thousands of U.S. troops have lost their lives or been maimed, and continue to suffer a whole host of enduring problems from this terrible war.

        Organizing meetings will be held in San Francisco. We encourage people to attend the meetings, support and request speakers to address 9/11 Truth, still the founding myth for both wars and the bogus war on terrorism. Northern California 9/11 truth Alliance will endorse the SF Rally, have a booth at the Civic Center and a contingent in the march. We also could use help organizing the contingent, signs, banners for the rally, please attend our meetings in Berkeley to get involved.   • Empire, Power & Propaganda Lecture Series

The series is a fund raiser in support of Flashpoints Radio, and the Media Freedom Foundation/Project Censored Investigative Reporting fund.       Dr. Kevin Barrett is the author of three books including the brand-new Questioning the War on Terror: A Primer for Obama Voters, which deconstructs the "war on terror" through Socratic questioning. A Ph.D. Arabist-Islamologist, he has taught languages, literature, humanities, religious studies, and folklore at colleges and universities in the U.S. and abroad.

      Blacklisted from teaching at the University of Wisconsin since 2006, Dr. Barrett has recently worked as a talk radio host, author, public speaker, and congressional candidate. One of the best-known critics of the War on Terror, Dr. Barrett has appeared on Fox, CNN, PBS, ABC-TV, and Unavision, and has been the subject of op-eds and feature stories in the New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Christian Science Monitor, and other publications.       About the Green Festival... Back in January 2002 when we marched to demand a Congressional Investigation of 9/11, one person was particularly key to the meeting and the publicity- that was Kevin Danaher of Global Exchange, who came up with the idea of "Demanding an investigation." Kevin has been an ally of the Truth Movement from the very beginning and is one of the few people who does a lot of public speaking, is highly visible, articulate and speaks out on the issue. This is the second time that we have actually had a booth at the Green Festival, it is a wonderful event and a great outreach opportunity for us. I asked Kevin about getting a 9/11 speaker and he said that he would address the issue- so be sure to catch his presentation and make sure he doesn't forget to mention it! Let us combine the Turth, Peace and Justice Movements in an environment where we are welcome! Our booth is #954 (in the East), north of the main stage/auditorium area this year.   • AE911Truth Local Action Groups Now Forming

        To Local SF Bay Area AE911Truth Petition Signers & Supporters:

        On behalf of Richard Gage, AIA, founder of Architects and Engineers for 911 Truth, we thank you for signing the petition calling for a REAL investigation into the destruction of the 3 World Trade Center skyscrapers on 9/11.

        We need your creative help and energy!

        Mr. Gage has been speaking out nonstop to present the evidence all around the country. But he is only one person. Now that over 1,000 Architects, Engineers and other building professionals have signed on to the petition, we’re building on the momentum of this milestone to kick–start a nationwide coordinated chain of independent and autonomous Action Groups.

        Help us to start the first of what we intend to be many AE911Truth Action Groups — right here in the Bay Area. We want to give YOU, at the local level, an opportunity to come and work with other local petition signers to take REAL ACTION — to break through the media blackout in the last nine years.

        Our first meeting/potluck lunch is intended to get the SF Bay Area action group(s) off and running — and to develop a clearly defined format and structure for future groups with the help of the SF Action Group templates, checklists, and online tools like Meetup. Please come and join with Mr. Gage and the SF Action Team from wherever you may live in the SF Bay Area because we want to start at least 4 groups: North Bay, South Bay, East Bay, and SF Peninsula. Future meetings will take place in your area. If you can’t make it to the first meeting but would like to help organize in your area please let us know.

        We want to be ready with enough established Action Groups to broadcast a set of unified messages nationwide in time for the 9th anniversary of 9/11 in 2010. Your energy, input and professional connections are vital to our efforts.

        Initial Goals for the AE911Truth Action Groups:

          • EDUCATE A/E professionals, and BUILD PUBLIC DEMAND for investigation & accountability.
          • PROMOTE, support & create AE911Truth EVENTS across the country.
          • BUILD ALLIANCES with first responders & other building trade members.
          • Create additional OPPORTUNITIES to take ACTION regarding 9/11 Truth.

        We’ll meet at the home of one of our architects in Oakland to discuss and brainstorm the structure and activities of the Action Groups. We’ll also fill you in about the exciting events coming up May 7 & 8, in alliance with Firefighters for 9/11 Truth, in Marin (Friday) and San Leandro (Saturday).

  • Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance Meeting
      Thursday, April 15, 2010, 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
      1606 Bonita (near Cedar and Bonita) upstairs in the Fireside Room (not wheelchair accessible)
      Berkeley

        The room is part of the Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalist complex that has held many outstanding social justice forums at Cedar and Bonita, located past the courtyard behind the main hall, up the stairs.

        There are many buses (the 15 runs on MLKJr.) and on Shattuck. Get off near Cedar (Bonita runs parallel to Shattuck and MLKJr.) It is between the North Berkeley and Downtown Berkeley BART Stations- about a 12 to 15 minute flat easy walk from those stations.
